What are Ceramic & Porcelain Tiles?
Porcelain tiles have water absorption ≤0.5%, fired dense and non-porous to resist freeze-thaw and stains — ideal for outdoor and wet areas. HSST offers two collections: Anti-slip Floor Tiles (dry-grain grip) and Full-body Antique Tile (body-colour, no white edges).
Dry-grain R11 grip
Anti-slip tiles use a textured dry-grain surface rated DIN 51130 R11 — safe for outdoor, pool edges and wet zones.
≤0.5% absorption
Dense vitrified body resists freeze-thaw and mould — built for Hong Kong humidity.
Mohs 6–7 · PEI 5
Hard, abrasion-resistant and stays new under heavy mall and station footfall.
Body-colour antique
Full-body tiles share colour through body and glaze — cut edges never show white.
Available Surface Finishes
Porcelain tiles come in multiple finishes: dry-grain anti-slip for grip and matte texture, body-colour antique with no white edges, plus satin and polished for refined interiors.

Frequently Asked Questions about Porcelain Tiles
How do porcelain tiles differ from ceramic? What do R10 / R11 mean? Will outdoor use mould? Do full-body tiles show white at edges? Key questions answered before you choose.
How do porcelain tiles differ from ceramic tiles?
Porcelain has ≤0.5% absorption and a dense, non-porous body — far more frost-proof, wear- and stain-resistant than ordinary ceramic, ideal for Hong Kong humidity and outdoor use.
What do slip ratings R10 / R11 mean?
Per DIN 51130 ramp test, R9 is lowest, R13 highest. R10 suits general wet areas; R11 suits outdoor, pool edges and barefoot wet zones — safer grip.
Will outdoor tiling absorb water or mould?
Fully vitrified ≤0.5% absorption barely takes in water; with correct grout and drainage slope it will not mould or crack from frost — safe for long-term outdoor use.
Do full-body antique tiles show white at cut edges?
Full-body tiles share colour through body and glaze, so bevelled or cut edges stay the original colour — no white "edge bleed" like ordinary tiles.
