Hotels, malls, airports and estates use huge volumes of stone with high demands. Driveways, paving, coping and curtain walls each have distinct selection logic; wrong choice means endless repair. This guide uses Hong Kong large-project experience.
Driveways and plaza paving bear vehicles and weight — granite is the pick. High hardness and compression, with flamed or bush-hammered slip-resistant faces. Marble is too soft for driven areas. See the outdoor granite guide.
Outdoor paving must resist slip beyond wear. Hong Kong's long rainy season calls for honed or textured faces, not polish. Slab thickness and mortar fullness affect durability; inspect on site.
Wall caps, planter and pool coping must slope outward to stop water entering walls. Add a drip underneath, with adequate thickness (30mm+) to withstand weather and foot traffic.
Large marble facades use dry-hang systems (pin, clip, undercut bolt); adequate slab thickness and back-net reinforcement, with acceptance on hollow, flatness and joint width. See the facade guide. HENGSHENG worked on projects like the Hong Kong airport.

Not advised. Driveways take vehicle load; marble is too soft and cracks. Granite is the wear-, load- and slip-proof pick.
Use flamed, bush-hammered or axe-cut faces, not polish; with Hong Kong's long rains, slip resistance is a safety red line.
Slope outward to avoid ponding, add an underside drip, thickness 30mm+ to withstand weather and traffic.
Dry-hang system, adequate thickness, back-net reinforcement, accept on hollow/flatness/joint; use an experienced team.
