GREENGUARD is one of the world's most recognised indoor air quality certification systems; its Gold level sets lower chemical-emission limits for sensitive-use spaces such as schools and healthcare facilities, testing formaldehyde, benzene series compounds and other key VOCs. Natural stone itself emits very little, but sealers, back-mesh adhesives and processing aids can become emission sources — this certification proves that HENGSHENG MARBLE S&T CO. LIMITED's protection and gluing processes have also passed the strictest third-party verification.
For buyers, the GREENGUARD Gold certificate maps directly to the low-emitting materials credit in LEED v4, simplifying material documentation for green-building certification.
To meet Gold limits, HENGSHENG MARBLE S&T CO. LIMITED upgraded its protection system in three ways: a full switch to low-VOC penetrating sealers; water-based eco formulas for back-mesh adhesives and reinforcement materials; and ventilation-based curing management before dispatch so that released emissions remain at a stable low level.
The certification covers all core slab products exported to the US, Canada, Australia and the premium hotel markets of the Middle East — 'making every square metre of stone stand up to health scrutiny', as the company puts it.
